Proximity at the Retail Technology Show 2025: Storytelling, Innovation, and Impact

This year’s Retail Technology Show marked a new chapter — not just for the event, but for the industry as a whole. Held for the first time at ExCeL London, the move from Olympia brought fresh energy, a bigger stage, and a chance for standout ideas to shine. And shine we did.

A Stand That Stood Out

Proximity made a bold impression with a striking, design-led booth that cut through the noise — both visually and strategically. Our evolved messaging sparked conversations, and our space became a go-to destination for retailers seeking real solutions that drive results. As well as real-time demos of our clienteling solution, we had a big screen playing powerful case study videos from our clients Joseph, Helzberg Diamonds, and Lafayette 148 New York, drawing in visitors with stories of real transformation and measurable impact.

Launching Our Latest White Paper with Martin Newman

We were proud to launch our latest white paper in partnership with consumer champion and keynote speaker Martin Newman, who also took the stage as host on Day 1. The white paper explores how leading brands are shifting their approach to retail — putting customers, connection, and consistency at the heart of the in-store experience.

Keynote with Joseph CEO Barbara Campos and Our CEO Cathy McCabe

One of the standout sessions of the show came as our Co-Founder and CEO Cathy McCabe took the stage alongside Barbara Campos, CEO of Joseph. With over 100+ speakers including industry legends like Theo Paphitis, Joe Wickes, Archie Norman and Kate Hardcastle, Cathy & Barbara were in excellent company as they explored the essence of the Joseph brand, and the evolving role of physical retail as a space for connection, storytelling, and loyalty.

Cathy and Barbara discussed:

  • The power of personal connection in-store

  • Why storytelling is a competitive advantage in luxury retail

  • How Joseph is embedding sustainability into every level of its business — from responsible sourcing and timeless design to circularity and care for every garment.

It was an inspiring, forward-thinking conversation — and a perfect reflection of what Proximity stands for: retail that’s more personal, more efficient, and more human.

Looking Ahead

The energy, insight, and enthusiasm at this year’s show have us already excited for what’s next. We loved connecting with so many passionate retailers and showcasing how Proximity helps store teams work smarter, sell better, and deliver truly exceptional experiences.

See you next year!
